The “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket will offer a top prize of $1 million a year for life, officials said Thursday. “To differentiate this ticket from our first $50 ticket that featured grand prizes of $25 million, Lifetime Millions will give players the chance to win a million dollars a year for the rest of their lives,” Mark William Bracken, the lottery’s executive director, said in a statement. “The prize is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years, but has the potential to be paid out for many, many more.”
“This year too, Germans were able to escape everyday life, dream or even find happiness with our safe, responsible lottery products. We were able to distribute around €4.0 billion in winnings across all types of games. The high winnings usually receive the most media attention. But we are experiencing the joy that even the many smaller winnings bring to game participants nationwide,” says Axel Holthaus, managing director of LOTTO Niedersachsen, the company currently in charge of the DLTB.

Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery, said "We knew that we needed to move forward. We knew that the competition from the other states was growing, and we needed to go online and we needed to launch as quickly as possible. We deferred to the [legislative] working group but then we had to make an executive decision," Keeley stated.

The immensely popular lottery will distribute a total of 2.6 billion euros in prizes this year, much of it in small winnings. Street and bar celebrations normally break out, with winners uncorking bottles of sparkling wine and singing and dancing. The event is televised nationally from Madrid's Teatro Real opera house.

The NY Lottery continues to be North America's largest and most profitable lottery program, earning more than $82.38 billion in education support statewide since its founding more than 50 years ago.
