Boulogne, October 18, 2023 – FDJ launches, Monday October 23, the marketing of the 3-euro scratch game “Mission Nature”, available in 30,000 FDJ points of sale, on www.fdj.fr and on the FDJ application .

Like the “Mission Patrimoine” games offer, the “Mission Nature” scratch game will see the proceeds of the levy on the stakes normally returning to the State allocated to the French Biodiversity Office (OFB) for financing biodiversity restoration projects [1] .

Thanks to a call for projects launched on March 2, and following an in-depth examination of the files, twenty projects were selected by a selection committee, chaired by Sarah El Haïry, Secretary of State to the Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, responsible for Biodiversity, to benefit from financial support. Among them, six are emblematic projects, with a positive impact on a national scale, and fourteen are network projects, with a regional impact.

Stéphane Pallez, Chairman and CEO of the FDJ group, declared: “The launch of the Mission Nature scratch game, which we were hoping for, marks an important step for the Group in its commitment to biodiversity. Thanks to this game, every French person will be able to get involved in ecological restoration projects linked to their territory. We are delighted to work alongside the French Biodiversity Office, a major player in the preservation of biodiversity. This year we have strengthened our environmental actions by becoming a patron of the OFB. FDJ is thus one of the first lotteries in Europe and in the world to have invested in the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of forest ecosystems. »

For Olivier Thibault, Director General of the OFB: “FDJ is launching the Mission Nature scratching game alongside us to help finance twenty biodiversity restoration projects in mainland France and overseas. A tool for raising popular awareness and teaching about biodiversity at the local level, Mission Nature is an innovative and engaging way to raise awareness among citizens and involve them in supporting concrete ecological restoration projects. Restoring degraded ecosystems, or even destroyed by human activity, is an essential lever for revitalizing biodiversity. France has made this a major issue, particularly with the national biodiversity strategy that the OFB will work particularly hard to implement. Mission Nature demonstrates France's ambition to put in place strong measures to preserve our biodiversity, by placing citizens at the heart of the ecological restoration of our beautiful territory. » .

Mission Nature, a scratch game in favor of biodiversity

The Mission Nature scratch game features an evocative design, which highlights the biodiversity theme by plunging the player into the heart of nature (bodies of water, greenery, butterflies, etc.).

Built around two games with simple and fun mechanics, and a bonus game, the Mission Nature ticket at 3 euros displays an excellent overall frequency with 1 chance in 3.21 of winning and allows players to win up to 30 000 euros.

This ticket also offers the possibility of discovering the projects supported by the OFB by flashing a QR code or by going to the dedicated site www.missionnature.fr .

0.43 euros per ticket purchased will be donated by the State to the OFB to finance the selected projects.

FDJ, major patron of the French Biodiversity Office

Continuing the forest conservation and restoration actions it has been carrying out for several years in France, the FDJ group has committed, in 2023, to the OFB as a major sponsor to the tune of 500,000 euros. In this context, FDJ supports a forest biodiversity preservation project which consists of restoring a mosaic of habitats in the Petite-Pierre forest, in Alsace, and thus encouraging the return of certain protected species; and a marine ecosystem restoration project, which will support a research and general public awareness program on the angel shark, a species of shark in danger of extinction on the Corsican seabed.

The environmental commitment of the FDJ group

The FDJ group's environmental strategy includes two commitments: one for the fight against climate change and the other for the preservation of biodiversity.

Among the actions carried out on the environmental aspect, the Group has printed its scratch tickets with vegetable inks and on FSC certified paper since 2012. This paper contains up to 20% recycled fibers, from paper scraps from the activity of the papermaker
itself, and reintroduced into the production processes.

In addition, FDJ finances projects to preserve forest biodiversity developed with FSC France and Sylvamo Forêts Services since 2019. These actions make it possible to support forest owners in restoration actions (reforestation or enrichment work) and/ or conservation (preservation of environments and creation of islands of senescence).
