The President of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, who has just started his executive mandate on March 1, has appointed Ricardo Berois Quinteros as head of the National Directorate of Lotteries and Quinielas , a division that reports to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Berois Quinteros, 62 years old and originally from Trinidad, Flores department, is a scribe and livestock producer, he was secretary general of the Flores Municipality for five years and a national legislator for fifteen. Also, he served as vice president of the Rural Federation and secretary of the Flores Development Society.

Berois Quinteros's relationship with the Lottery and Quinielas Directorate dates back to 1977, when he entered the public administration at the age of 19. In 1991, he came to occupy the post of deputy general manager and, in 1992, that of general manager of Loterías y Quinielas. He is the author of the Compilation of Laws, Decrees and Resolutions of the Directorate of Lotteries and Quinielas, with successive editions since 1989.
