Angel Of The Winds will be the first casino to reopen in Western Washington

Angel Of The Winds Casino is reopening Wednesday at 3 p.m., with new safety restrictions in place for all customers and employees. The Stillaguamish owned casino in Arlington, Wash., will be the first casino in Western Washington to reopen after closing voluntarily following Gov. Inslee’s initial stay-at-home order.

While other businesses around the state must wait on industry specific guidance to reopen, local tribes are not subject to the governor’s orders as they are sovereign nations.

Angel Of The Winds has a “phased re-opening strategy” in place. Its website details the new safety measure, including social distancing, increased cleaning and sanitation guidelines, and mandatory face-covering protocol for all guests and employees. The property will also be 100 percent smoke-free, including vaping.

The phased reopening features a number of changes across the property for guests upon arrival, entering the casino, and on the gaming floor.

Guests must have a cell phone in order to join the virtual queue for access to the casino by texting in from a parked car, and guests will be provided additional precautions upon check-in. There will be one entrance only, and casino occupancy will be limited to 50 percent. To enter, guests will have to go through an ID check, temperature check, and must wear a face covering.

Three restaurants will be open, but all with limited seating, no bar seating, and disposable glasses and flatware.

According to Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort on Facebook, the owners “are committed to ensuring the safety of our guests, Team Members, and our community, as we open our doors.”

“We understand that for some guests, the time might not be right to visit us,” the post states. “We will be here and ready, with increased precautions in place, when you choose to join us at Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort once more.”
