Sports betting is strong in Indiana. Hoosiers wagered more than $360 million last month

Sports betting is strong in Indiana. Hoosiers wagered more than $360 million last month, a drop from March’s total of $476 million. This was still a 52% increase over April 2021, when $236 million was wagered on sports statewide.

What are Hoosiers betting on?

Basketball drew the most bets with wagers totaling $129.2 million. $56.7m was spent on baseball bets and $3.8m on football. Parlay bets amounted to $91.3m and $76.5m was wagered across other sports. Beside sports betting, Indiana has 14 casinos for table games and slots.

How well are Indiana casinos earning?

The Indiana Gaming Commission released information that states the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana was the highest earning casino in the Hoosier State. Statewide casino wins for April totaled $229.1 million, a 2.6% decrease compared to the $235.2 million in statewide win recorded in March, but up 8.3% compared to April 2021, according to the IGC.

Hard Rock Casino led the state in slot machine play for the fourth time since opening. The casino took in $260.5 million in slot machines. In April, Indiana collected $71.5 million in tax revenue from slot machine and table game play, and another $2.7 million from settled sports wagers.

Data shows that baccarat was the biggest table game at 3 of the states top casinos.

Indiana has fourteen commercial casinos. The largest casino in Indiana is Horseshoe Hammond. The second-largest casino is Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
