Gaming commission launches tip line for mischief at Nebraska casinos, racetracks

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission is partnering with an anonymous reporting platform so to curb unethical or illegal activity at casinos and racetracks.

The commission launched a new statewide tip hotline via RealResponse on Friday.

It allows the public to anonymously report concerning activities regarding horse racing, casino gaming and sports gambling.

That could include corrupt gaming practices, manipulation of competitions and even criminal activity.

“We also look at it as if somebody is saying, ‘Hey, we see something going on in the casino that we think is human trafficking,'” said Tom Sage, the commission’s executive director. “We want that reported to us.”

Commision officials said after receiving the tips, they will investigate whether they are true.

The reporting system has the ability to block people who aren’t using it for the intended purpose.

Officials with RealResponse said with legalized sports wagering and gambling expanding rapidly from state to state, there is a need to protect those vulnerable.

“We have 40 states that have legalized some form of sports betting today at some level, and that brings challenges,” Vice President Blake Davidson said.
