(AUSTIN) – The Texas Lottery Commission (TLC) has appointed LaDonna Castañuela as Director of the Charitable Bingo Operations Division, where she will oversee the agency’s regulation of bingo effective July 1, 2021.
“I am pleased to announce LaDonna Castañuela as the next director of the Charitable Bingo Operations Division,” said Texas Lottery Commission Chairman Robert G. Rivera. “Ms. Castañuela brings extensive state government experience to this position, and I am confident she is the right leader to shepherd the agency’s regulatory function and collaborative efforts with the charitable bingo industry and stakeholder groups.”
Castañuela assumes her new role with more than three decades of experience working for various Texas state agencies. Most recently, she has served as an attorney and mediator for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, where she helped develop the department’s mediation program and spearheaded many legislative and regulatory initiatives. Previously, Castañuela held various roles at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, including as Chief Clerk to the Commission. She started her career in Texas state government at the Office of the Attorney General. Castañuela holds a Juris Doctorate degree in Law from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s Degree in Comparative Literature from Princeton University.
