New Hampshire charitable gaming revenue surges 61% in June driven by new casino openings

Charitable gaming revenue in New Hampshire reached $22.5 million in June, marking a 61% increase from the same month last year, according to figures released by the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. The rise is largely attributed to the opening of new casinos and expanded operations at existing venues.

Among the 14 casinos currently operating in the state, six posted year-over-year revenue increases. Revo Casino recorded the most dramatic gain, with a 303% jump from $358,567 to more than $1.4 million. The casino relocated to a larger facility in December, which officials say contributed significantly to the surge.

The Nash, which opened in March, reported the highest single-month revenue of any venue, bringing in $5.8 million in June. Other notable performers included The Brook, which saw revenue increase by 15% from $4.5 million to $5.1 million, and Lakes Region Casino, which reported a 32% gain, rising from $136,747 to $180,695.

However, not all casinos fared well. The Lucky Moose experienced the steepest decline, with revenue dropping 73% year-over-year to $179,840 from $639,229. Gates City and Revo Casino Keene also reported double-digit declines, down 20% and 21% respectively.

Historical horse racing (HHR) continues to be the dominant force in the state’s gaming sector, accounting for 78.4% of total gaming revenue in June. HHR machines generated $17.6 million, a 72% increase from the $10.8 million recorded in the same month last year. Traditional games of chance also saw growth, bringing in $4.9 million, up 33% year-over-year.
