Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Celebrates Lottery Week, Highlights Support for Education

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) joined lotteries across North America in celebrating the seventh annual Lottery Week, recognizing the vital contributions lotteries make to their communities.

Since its founding in 2009, ASL has raised more than $1.5 billion to fund over 822,000 scholarships for Arkansas students through programs such as the Arkansas Academic Challenge, Workforce Challenge, and ACCESS to Acceleration.

ASL’s impact also extends to more than 2,000 licensed retailers statewide, who have earned over $454 million in commissions from lottery ticket sales. To date, the lottery has sold more than $8 billion in products and awarded over $5 billion in prizes to players.

ASL emphasizes responsible gaming and earned its Responsible Gambling Certification in 2019. The organization continues to train employees and retailers to promote healthy lottery play and provides resources for those struggling with gambling issues.
