Austrian Lotteries Playsponsible program company-wide volunteering

Elisabeth Römer-Russwurm, Managing Director Austrian Lotteries: “The Austrian Lotteries have been supporting numerous institutions and projects in the humanitarian sector for decades - employees can also suggest their own projects in order to get involved socially.

The Advent calendar for scratching has been one of the fixtures in the scratch card range for years. Due to the great success of the past few years, it was available again this year in the X-large version as an 11 x 5 meter giant Advent calendar on the Rathausplatz in Vienna. This year, Austria's highest Advent calendar once again offers the opportunity to do something good by taking part in a competition.

All Christmas market visitors aged 18 and over can register for the competition and win prizes of up to 200 euros. At the same time, the Austrian Lotteries donate one euro to the “Hof Schwechatbach Therapieverein” for every participation ticket submitted. The non-profit farm has set itself the goal of supporting people in their very personal development. The animal-assisted offer is aimed primarily at children with disabilities, but also offers opportunities for young people, adults and seniors.

The Austrian Lotteries have now rounded up the donation amount to 10,000 euros in advance in order to be able to support the institution with the symbolic check in time for Christmas. The check was handed over yesterday afternoon by Managing Director Austrian Lotteries, Elisabeth Römer-Russwurm, to Marianne Edelbacher, the founder and director of the Schwechatbachhof.

Marianne Edelbacher: “This year in particular, a particularly big weight was lifted from my heart when I found out about the planned fundraising campaign shortly before I had to pay a necessary veterinary bill. With this generous support, the Austrian Lotteries are making a significant contribution to ensuring that we can continue to offer our charitable offerings and maintain the quality that is necessary for both sides in the area of animal-assisted intervention.”

Elisabeth Römer-Russwurm, Managing Director Austrian Lotteries: “The Austrian Lotteries have been supporting numerous institutions and projects in the humanitarian sector for decades and also support the Schwechatbachhof as part of our corporate volunteering activities. Wherever we can help to make a difference, we are happy to do so. We are pleased to be able to contribute to a project that helps people when they find themselves in difficult situations.”

Corporate volunteering — company-wide commitment

By enabling employees to volunteer, the group supports organizations in the social and environmental sectors in Austria - because helping hands are needed everywhere. After consultation with superiors, up to five working days per year are available for this commitment. The spectrum of possible activities is as broad as the areas of responsibility of the aid organizations. Projects from Caritas and the “e-Motion Lichtblickhof Children’s Hospice” as well as collection campaigns from Tafel Österreich have also received active help in the past.

As part of the corporate volunteering program, employees can also suggest their own projects in order to get involved socially. Information about Playsponsible and the group's corporate volunteering program can be found on the websiteplaysponsible.at
