Saskatchewan introduces first and only legal online gaming site

Players across Saskatchewan can now access online gaming and sports betting after the British Columbia Lottery Corporation took the PlayNow platform live in a third Canadian province.

Under the terms of a partnership that was inked alongside Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and SaskGaming in June, more than 400 igaming titles and sports wagering products have become available.

“We are excited to be the exclusive provider of Saskatchewan’s first and only legal online gaming site, which will provide a safe and secure option for residents to play their favourite casino games and bet on their favourite sports teams online,” said Zane Hansen, SIGA President and CEO.

Furthermore, it is also noted that expansion is just around the corner, with 2023 to deliver an additional suite of products in Saskatchewan, including live casino and poker.

“Today is a historic day for casino gaming and entertainment in Saskatchewan,” noted Susan Flett, SaskGaming President and CEO.

“PlayNow.com will change the gaming industry as we know it and I want to extend my appreciation to BCLC and SIGA in helping make this launch a reality.”

BCLC launched PlayNow in British Columbia in 2004, with subsequent provisions in Manitoba being undertaken during 2013.

“BCLC is thrilled to help bring legal, online regulated gambling to Saskatchewan, in line with our social purpose to generate win-wins for the greater good,” said Pat Davis, BCLC President and CEO.

“We would like to thank our partners at SIGA and SaskGaming for their collaboration in bringing our safe, secure and industry-leading PlayNow.com platform to the province of Saskatchewan.”
