Gauselmann Group launches new casino on TUI Cruises ship

The Gauselmann Group is expanding its aquatic gambling offering with the launch of a casino on board another ship in the TUI Cruises fleet, Mein Schiff 3.

Casinos under the Merkur Casino Mare brand have been a fixture of the cruise liner’s sister ships, the ‘Mein Schiff 1’ and ‘Mein Schiff 2’, since 2018 and 2019 respectively and with this latest addition, Gauselmann is continuing to grow its seaborne gambling operations.

The casino on board Mein Schiff 3 offers similar amenities to its forebears, such as six electronic Merkur roulette machines, but this venture differs with the inclusion of an additional lounge area which features four M-box motion devices and a blackjack table for classic live games.

“Our high-quality ship casinos with their diverse games offerings are extremely popular with the public on the high seas,” remarked Kathy Schröder, Head of Casino Operations at Merkur Casino Mare.

Mein Schiff 3 is 293 metres long and can safely accommodate up to 2,506 passengers. Moreover, it was TUI Cruises’ first newly constructed ship, entering service in 2014.

Its stand-out features include a theatre and a 25-metre outdoor pool and glass balcony that floats approximately 37 metres above the sea. The glass façade is an additional design highlight that extends over two decks in the shape of a diamond at the stern of the ship.

David Schnabel, MD of Merkur Spielbanken, commented: “Our mix of ultra-modern Merkur innovations, service offerings and events are fully geared towards our guests’ wishes and preferences.

“The Gauselmann Group is renowned not only for its consistent focus on guests but also for always offering its guests the best games and gaming machines in an upmarket atmosphere. This simple and, at the same time, unique Merkur key to success is also particularly reflected in our ship casinos.”
