The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring retailers and customers are supported in all facets of lotteries operations. This role leads a team of operations specialists and supports the State Retail Manager and the Retail Outlets team, using the framework of established policies and procedures to develop activities that grow the network, drive revenue, improve retailer engagement and maintain the high standards of store presentation and customer service that deliver an experience customers love.

The Retail Operations Manager will ensure state operations align with the goals of the State Retail Manager, support retailers with efficient resolution of requests for support and identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of collaboration and communication.

What you’ll do 

  • Help retailers develop better ways of operating to consistently maintain and improve standards and drive measurable improvements in revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the program of retail image upgrades per the schedule driven by the retailer’s franchise agreements. Ensure all retail image installations are to approved specifications.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and other reports that support Business Development Managers and their planning for site visits.
  • Improve retailer engagement to ensure lotteries are top of mind enough to maintain quality of customer service, store presentation and readiness to support promotions that may take place from time to time.
  • Provide coaching and ongoing development to the team and to Business Development Managers, to ensure they have the insight and reporting required to effectively support retailers. 
  • Collaborate with franchisees using virtual techniques, with action plans based on performance analysis, and encourage collaboration to help them achieve their business goals. 
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators for Business Development Managers and franchisees, using reporting tools and data analytics platforms.

What you’ll bring  

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Proven leadership in retail operations, preferably in a franchise support or management role. 
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of franchise operations, brand standards, and best practices. 
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and tools
