This position will provide day to day support for the Product Development Department and assist product development team members with product/promotional planning and game development. This position’s job duties will be required to perform complex and routine administrative and product management duties in an accurate and expeditious manner as assigned by the Director of Product Development. This position’s job duties require attention to detail and time management skills to manage complex and dynamic projects with overlapping timelines and deliverables. This position requires command of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically, Word, Excel, Power Point in order to complete most tasks assigned. This division is the agency’s Product Development department responsible for developing products and initiatives that raise money for the State of Maryland.

 

POSITION DUTIES

  • Instant Ticket Audits and Game Records – This position is responsible for conducting audits for all new instant ticket games, checking for scratch quality, non-winning string limiters, and guaranteed winners per book; this position is also responsible for managing the physical and digital game files for instant tickets and Fast Play games.
  • Product Management Coordination – Review working papers (instant games) and development specs (Fast Play), providing comments to team members. Using industry research, create draft launch plan for instant tickets and Fast Play games including potential marketable initiatives and second-chance promotions. Manage development timelines, schedules and deliverables for instant ticket product line. Monitor department’s adherence to responsible gaming principles.
  • Assigned Administrative Support – Responsible for digital and physical file organization and management – making sure all deliverables from vendors are received and saved; Continually ensure Product Plan is up to date based on meetings and activity within department. Use approved Product Plan to create memos and documents for review by Product Development; Manages Director’s Report and New Game Financial timeline, deliverables and approvals. Attends meetings, takes notes for distribution. Responsible for managing department procurements and reimbursements.
  • Industry Reporting – monitor lottery industry trends and lotteries of interest, recording product trends, industry innovation, business strategies and executions; information will be put into concise recaps focusing on areas of opportunity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

 

Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work.

 

Notes:

 

  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Experience with working in an office setting
  • Experience conducting situational research and compiling into digestible reports
  • Experience managing or collaborating on projects from start to finish in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to reconcile and consolidate input from multiple parties and effectively communicate direction
