TENNESSEE LOTTERY SETS INSTANT GAMES RECORD IN APRIL

Second Record-Breaking Month in a Row for Tennessee Instant Game Revenues

NASHVILLE – Buoyed by a record-breaking week and a near record-breaking day, the Tennessee Lottery’s instant game revenues for the month of April were the highest for any month since inception.

April’s instant game revenues totaled $176.4 million, breaking the previous monthly record of $171.4 million set in March 2021.

April’s record continues the momentum from the third quarter (January-March) when the Lottery raised a record-shattering $140,300,000 for designated education programs in Tennessee, including $132,883,000 for the Lottery for Education Account.

The week ending April 10, 2021 made Tennessee Lottery history, setting the record of $47,104,415 for instant game revenues in a week. That week included instant game revenues of $10,151,891 on Tuesday, April 6, the second highest single day total after the TEL’s opening day on January 20, 2004.

The TEL encourages all players to take appropriate health and safety precautions when purchasing tickets at Lottery retailers.
