“I do not think it will cannibalize the existing sales of tickets and Keno,” Lottery Executive Director Gerald Aubin told NBC 10 in a statement.
“We’re in the business of making fun things happen,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “This game not only offers a great top prize, but once-in-a-lifetime trips to Los Angeles where you can see the Wheel of Fortune show and compete for a $1 million prize. Along the way, this fun will help the lottery meet its mission of raising money for education.”
Jim Poppell, Florida Lottery Secretary, said, “We don’t set out to break national lottery industry records, we set out to generate funding to enhance education in Florida. These records are just a testament to the careful research, planning and marketing that goes into our scratch-off games so they provide a fun, entertainment value to Floridians. It’s great to see our players having fun, and we look forward to continuing to provide them the best games available.”
“This is a great way to kick off our 30th anniversary we’ll be officially celebrating in April,” said Tom Delacenserie, president and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery. “To not only break but shatter our one-day Scratch-off sales record is a huge achievement, and a testament to the hard work of our retailers and staff. The more tickets we sell, the more kids we send to college. That’s a great net result of this momentous occasion.”
Shannon DeHaven, Deputy Commissioner of Digital Operations at Michigan Lottery, said: “We feel confident that the launch of this brand-new style of sports-themed digital instant ticket game will appeal to both our existing player base and new players.”
"The Texas Lottery recognizes the continuous innovation that Scientific Games invests to create very marketable games that are not only enjoyed by our players, but help us make important contributions to education and veterans' assistance in our state," said Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief. "Scientific Games is a trusted business partner, and we look forward to six more years of 'scratch' game entertainment that has been a vital part of the Texas Lottery's growth over many years."
