North American Gaming Regulators Association postpones annual conference

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the North American Gaming Regulators Association's (NAGRA) Annual Conference, originally slated for 2-4 June, will be held in June 2021 in Kentucky.

From Joe Osterloh, NAGRA President:

"The North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA), like many other organizations, is having to navigate the difficult challenge in responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

As the patterns of transmission and infection for the virus emerge with more clarity worldwide, NAGRA has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference in Louisville. We realize that this is unwelcome news as the Annual Conference is a major highlight of the year for our membership and those in the gaming industry. We waited for as much information as possible before making our decision, but ultimately with the uncertainty of when this will pass, we realize that holding the conference could continue to constitute a threat to participants' health and to public health in general. NAGRA also acknowledges, that even if the spread of the virus is on the decline by conference time, travel approvals and budgets may still be a challenge.

Our intent is to postpone the conference until June 2021 in Louisville, KY. The NAGRA Board of Directors is working on plans to offer some of the already planned sessions virtually, free of charge, while other sessions and themes will be postponed until next year. The board will also increase their efforts to offer more webinars to provide a resource and platform for the sharing of knowledge and information.

We recognize that these are uncertain and upsetting times and our thoughts go out to the people who have been directly affected by this extraordinary event as well as healthcare and other frontline staff combating the virus and helping keep communities safe.

Please know that our actions and decisions will at all times prioritize the safety and well-being of members and staff.

We will provide further updates regarding the 2021 Conference as we have information. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me or any of the NAGRA Board of Directors.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe."
