West Virginia Lottery Celebrates 2018 West Virginia ADDY Best in Show

CHARLESTON, W.Va., March 14, 2019 -- The West Virginia Lottery is celebrating several wins from the West Virginia American Advertising Awards ceremony held on February 28, 2019 at Mardi Gras Casino and Resort in Cross Lanes, WV. The Lottery, in partnership with Digital

Relativity, was awarded four Gold ADDYs and the Best of Show Award for the “Lotto Bros” TV Spot.

The West Virginia Lottery saw great success in 2018. Sales exceeded the $1 billion mark, increasing to $1.1 billion. The “Lotto Bros” campaign contributed to this success. These creative ads expand on the Lottery’s tagline of “You Never Know, It Could Happen to You” by showing

two friends in situations that they believe are more likely to happen than winning the lottery. The campaign was launched in May 2018 and includes a series of 8 spots about the Lotto Bros ranging from meteors to lightning strikes. Both the Meteor TV Spot and the Sasquatch TV Spot

were awarded Gold ADDYs, along with the Lotto Bros TV campaign and the overall Lotto Bros campaign.

These awards will move on to compete at the regional level at the District 5 American Advertising Awards in mid-March. District 5 of the American Advertising Federation encompasses all of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.

“We are very honored to receive these awards which showcases our collaborative partnership with our West Virginia-based agency, Digital Relativity. The success of the Lotto Bros campaign highlights our products in such a unique and creative way which helps generate more revenue

thus benefiting vital programs for seniors, education and tourism across the state. In addition to these awards, the increased contributions to these important programs is the true win in this instance,” says Sara Harpold, Advertising Manager for the West Virginia Lottery.
