Lottery sales continue to grow across Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Lottery sales continued to grow across the state.

Data from the Mississippi Lottery Corporation showed Lee County had the fourth-highest number of total sales in the state after two weeks of sales.

Lowndes County was seventh in the state and Oktibbeha County came finished in the top 15.

Those were the highest-selling counties in the WCBI viewing area.

In total sales, Mississippians bought more than 17 million dollars worth of lottery tickets in just a few weeks.

“We have had so much excitement from players all over the state. Mississippi has really made us proud. We knew people were ready and excited to play but really did not have any idea just how excited they are,” said Meg Anninson, with the MLC.

In our area, Choctaw County had the fewest total sales in the first two weeks.

Several new games were also unveiled last week.
