SCIENTIFIC GAMES’ gem|Intelligence® RETAILER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT  SOFTWARE CONTINUES SUPPORTING  MICHIGAN LOTTERY SUCCESS

Company’s Cloud-based Software Improving Retail Performance and Operational Efficiencies

LAS VEGAS and ATLANTA – October 13, 2020 – Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) (“Scientific Games” or the “Company”) announces that the Michigan Lottery (or the “Lottery”) has extended its existing software license agreement for gem|Intelligence. Under the extended agreement, the Lottery will take advantage of new software features and capabilities, and benefit from the cloud hosting services provided by Scientific Games. The Company’s gem|Intelligence software has played an important role in driving and sustaining a higher level of retail performance and increased instant game sales for the Michigan Lottery. Additionally, gem|Intelligence is helping the Lottery’s district sales representatives stay connected with retailers and provide support.

William Griffin, Deputy Commissioner of Sales for the Michigan Lottery, said “gem|Intelligence continues to be instrumental for our sales representatives, management and retailers. The software helped the Michigan Lottery increase new instant game penetration and improve communication between all Lottery stakeholders. gem|Intelligence has been key to facilitating collaboration and retailer sales growth that ultimately benefits K-12 education in Michigan.”

Serving as an effective, seamless toolbox in a multi-vendor environment, gem|Intelligence is a key component of Scientific Games’ gem|Suite portfolio of lottery back-office applications to help streamline lottery business processes and improve efficiencies for retailers. Gem|Intelligence is an agile retailer relationship management (RRM) platform that can be used anytime, anywhere, and on any device for graphically presented, near real time retail performance visibility and management.

Patrick McHugh, EVP & Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games, said, “Scientific Games embraces the strong, collaborative business relationship our gem|Suite team has created with the Lottery and its retailers to help maximize profits for Michigan education. We are very pleased that our integrated, cloud-based performance-management applications helped the Michigan Lottery increase instant game sales and streamline operations. Gem|Intelligence is a valuable investment, proven even more so as lotteries work to optimize retail performance.”

In addition to gem|Intelligence, the Company also currently supplies the Michigan Lottery with instant games and licensed properties. Scientific Games is a U.S.-based provider of games, technology and services to more than 150 lotteries around the globe, including nearly every North American lottery.
