WyoLotto player participation supports Wyoming Hunger Initiative

Hello WyoLotto Players,

Let’s take a minute together (virtually of course) to be thankful for the good surrounding us. The days have been long and filled with difficult news, and we wanted to step back for a minute, say thank you to our loyal players, and pay it forward.

We looked at all the loyalty and support we have had from you and our retailers since day one, and we wanted to share that with everyone in this great state. One way we thought of to do that is to give cash directly to the state. We were able to scrub budgets of non-essential spending during this time in order to give as much cash as possible directly to the state in our quarterly transfer to the State Treasurer, which amounted to $805,650 from last quarter’s net proceeds. All-in-all, we have given more than $18.5 million in direct cash to Wyoming since April 2016. That is because of you—our players.

In addition to the transfer, we just finished a Cowboy Draw Second Chance Drawing where you sent in non-winning tickets for a chance to win $1,000. To pay forward the support we have received from you, we decided that for every entry we received in the Second Chance Drawing, we are going to donate 50 cents up to $2,500 to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, a Wyoming nonprofit organization started by the First Lady Jennie Gordon. The organization is dedicated to ending childhood hunger in our state. This is something small we want to do now and we will continue to look for ways that we can contribute and support Wyoming in the future.

We feel it is more important now than ever that we do our part and support Wyoming in the ways we can.

Stay healthy, friends!
