Michigan Lawmakers Want to Make Online Gambling Legal

You could soon gamble without even leaving your house.

It was one of the bills that made it through the lame duck legislature.

Anyone 21 and older could register with the 26 casinos across the state and gamble on their website.

Poker, cards and slots are just some of what you’ll be able to play.

With an 8% tax associated with it, the revenue would be a positive for the state.

“I understand that getting more revenue to the state makes sense I guess I would rather see the lottery do that than gambling online and the fact that it’s online adds another whole dimension of anonymity and perhaps lack of control,” said Mary Mintz.

Others are concerned about gambling addiction.

The bill is now on the governor’s desk.
