Halloween Raffle offers millions in scary fun!
LANSING, September 3, 2013 – The Michigan Lottery is once again offering a popular raffle game and this one with a new twist! The Halloween Millions Raffle, a $10 ticket, goes on sale at all Michigan Lottery retailers today.
The raffle is a multi-state effort, with unlimited tickets being sold not only in Michigan but in Iowa, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Oklahoma as well. Top prizes of $1,000,000 cash will be awarded randomly among the total pool of tickets sold in these states.
The more tickets sold, the more $1,000,000 prizes will be awarded! If any state(s) goes without a $1,000,000 prizewinner on the day of the draw, a $50,000 runners-up prize is guaranteed to be randomly selected from that state.
Among the pool of tickets sold only in Michigan, $100 and $20 prizes will also be awarded. For every 10,000 Halloween Millions Raffle tickets sold in our state, 50 prizes of $100 and 500 prizes of $20 will be up for grabs. That means thousands of cash prizes will be available! Winning raffle tickets will be drawn on November 1.
The number of $1,000,000 top prizes to be awarded will depend on the number of tickets sold in all participating lotteries through October 31. Over 97 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers.
In fiscal year 2012, the contribution to schools was a record $778.4 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $17 billion to education in Michigan.
