Camelot Global Services appoints
Richard Bateson as Commercial Director


Camelot Global Services (CGS), which provides consultancy and private management services to lotteries worldwide, has today announced that Richard Bateson, previously Marketing Director at Camelot UK Lotteries, has been appointed as its Commercial Director.

In the newly-created role, Richard will be responsible for Camelot Global Service's commercial operations - as the company looks to build on its existing consultancy contracts and further step up its focus on new international opportunities. Utilising the skills, expertise and resources developed by the Camelot Group in running the UK National Lottery for the last 18 years, CGS works in partnership with governments and other lottery operators to help them maximise their revenues and returns to beneficiaries. Richard will take up his new role with immediate effect.

Richard joined UK National Lottery operator Camelot in 2001 to set up and manage EuroMillions, which successfully launched in 2004 and has grown to become the world's biggest multinational lottery game by player population.

Initially as Controller of Game Development and Scratchcards and subsequently as Marketing Director, Richard has been responsible for the marketing strategy that underpinned the successful bid for Camelot's third consecutive National Lottery licence in 2007, and has grown National Lottery Scratchcards into a multi-billion pound category and seen sales of National Lottery draw-based games increase by A31 billion. On top of this, he has overseen the development of Camelot's online lottery business to become the biggest in the world.

Thank you to all of you who presented, served on a panel discussion, and participated at Smart-Tech.
