Scientific Games Goes Live with System at First of 28 Alberta Casinos

LAS VEGASJan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) ("Scientific Games" or the "Company") announced that the Company has gone live with the first of 28 casinos throughout Alberta that will install the Company's system solution. The Company had previously signed a comprehensive agreement with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission ("AGLC") to install its casino management system in all 28 of the independently-operated casinos throughout the Canadian province. The Grand Villa Casino Edmonton went live with the system on November 20.

"Given the unique requirements of the AGLC and its various casino properties, we needed a system that could support the AGLC's multiple-service provider environment," said Niaz Nejad, Chief Operating Officer of the AGLC. "We believe that Scientific Games' elite casino management system will provide us with the necessary support, and we look forward to seeing results."

Based in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the AGLC is the commercial enterprise that oversees the gaming and liquor industries in Alberta. It licenses and regulates the 28 independently-operated casinos including owning and maintaining the over 14,000 slot and 6,000 VLT machines throughout the province.

Through a phased approach, Scientific Games' casino management systems will eventually manage all of the slot games throughout Alberta, replacing the current competitive system. The Company will be initially installing the SDS®slot accounting and player tracking system, as well as the powerful and innovative iVIEW® 4 and iVIEW DM on-device messaging and player interface technology.

SDS is an integrated system that continually monitors slot machines, other gaming devices and player gaming activity at a casino property. For more than 35 years, SDS has set the standard as the gaming industry's most accurate, reliable, and innovative slot-accounting and player-tracking system.

iVIEW 4, a next generation player interface, showcases flexibility across the spectrum for enhancing player experiences and facilitating customer service and employee duties. The iVIEW 4 interface displays dynamic marketing animations and video with instant response through a state-of-the-art multi-touch display. iVIEW DM allows gaming operators to present content such as player account information, bonusing offers, and directed marketing messages right on the main game screen or top screen.

"We are proud that our systems solutions were able to accommodate the particular requirements the AGLC had in administering the gaming aspect of its 28 casinos, while allowing the casino operators to maintain a certain level of autonomy in managing their individual properties," said Cath Burns, Senior Vice President of Gaming Systems at Scientific Games. "We are excited to have our casino management system implemented throughout the Albertaprovince and we look forward to our continued partnership with the AGLC."
