PENNSYLVANIA iLOTTERY PLATFORM ACHIEVES INTERNET RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING CERTIFICATION

Certification of iLottery Platform Developed and Managed by Scientific Games Meets Industry’s Gold Standard for Responsible Gambling Compliance

LAS VEGAS and ATLANTA – October 22, 2020 – Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) (“Scientific Games” or the “Company”) announces that the Pennsylvania Lottery (or the “Lottery” ) has achieved the distinguished Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) certification for its iLottery platform developed and managed primarily by Scientific Games. Considered the U.S. lottery industry’s gold standard, iCAP certification verifies that the Pennsylvania Lottery’s iLottery program complies with the National Council on Problem Gambling’s (NCPG) Internet Responsible Gambling Standards.

Held by only a few U.S. lotteries, iCAP certification standards are the highest in the U.S. for responsible online programs. iCAP is the first and only U.S.-based online responsible gambling assessment program for lotteries.

“By working with Scientific Games, the Lottery team and Responsible Gambling experts in the industry, we were able to take a deeper dive into our iLottery program’s Responsible Gambling Initiative and ensure we are doing the right thing,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “This certification is testimony of our commitment to ensure that we are providing iLottery players with responsible gaming tools they need to manage their play responsibly.”

Svitko added that the Lottery’s shared commitment with Scientific Games to offer entertaining online products in a socially responsible way helps maintain responsible gambling strategies that work.

“We congratulate the Pennsylvania Lottery on achieving the iCAP certification,” said Keith Whyte, Executive Director of NCPG. “Our rigorous assessment process provides the Lottery and Scientific Games with specific, actionable feedback to help better protect players and reduce problem gambling-related harm.”

Launching in May 2018, Pennsylvania Lottery’s online/mobile games set new industry records for growth, offering entertaining digital lottery games to appeal to a wide base of players while adhering to responsible gambling standards.

“Scientific Games is committed to responsible gambling principles, including ensuring our platforms and programs comply with the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards while offering commercially successful, high-quality digital games,” said Pat McHugh, Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games. “We are passionate about healthy play and congratulate the Pennsylvania Lottery on its industry leadership to responsibly deliver entertaining digital lottery games to its players.”

McHugh said Scientific Games supports the NCPG’s efforts and encourages its lottery customers to achieve responsible gambling certifications such as iCAP. The Company is a member of NCPG and other responsible gaming organizations globally, and participates in NCPG’s annual holiday Gift Responsibly program.

NCPG created the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards based on best practices in online responsible gambling from jurisdictions around the world. Many of these principles were subsequently incorporated into legislation, regulation and platforms in states that legalized internet lottery games.

Scientific Games is among the first companies to be certified by the World Lottery Association as a Responsible Gaming Supplier and is the first lottery supplier to join the Global Lottery Monitoring System which ensures the integrity of sports betting worldwide.
