THE FLORIDA LOTTERY RECEIVES RESPONSIBLE GAMING
CERTIFICATION FROM THE WORLD LOTTERY ASSOCIATION

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that it has received a certification for responsible gaming from the World Lottery Association (WLA). Florida becomes one of only 15 Lotteries in the United States to have achieved this distinction. The Lottery received the award for its initiatives in employee and retailer training, public education and awareness, product oversight, research and advertising.

"At the Florida Lottery, we are committed to building responsible gaming best practices into everything we do, and we are proud to be recognized by the WLA for those efforts," said Florida Lottery Secretary Randall Hunt. "We have a long history of supporting responsible gaming, and we will continue to do all we can to increase awareness of and educate our players, retailers, and stakeholders about the importance of responsible play. By supporting responsible gaming practices, we are also providing significant contributions to Florida's education system through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program."

The WLA certification is the Florida Lottery's second responsible gaming certification. The Lottery received the top certification for responsible gaming from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), and the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in October 2018, becoming one of only 15 Lotteries to have achieved this distinction.

The Responsible Gaming Principles and Framework program was launched by WLA in 2006. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, the Florida Lottery encourages you to contact the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling at 1-888-ADMIT-IT, or the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-522-4700 for confidential help.
