Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Announces New IT Coordinator

Feb. 10, 2021 LITTLE ROCK – Today, Lottery Director J. Eric Hagler announced the appointment of James (J.C.) Hedrick as IT Coordinator of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, which is a division of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

“This IT Coordinator title is a newly established position for us,” said Hagler. “J.C. will be supervising all IT-related projects and initiatives. He and his team will be responsible for developing the lottery’s enterprise-wide IT strategies.”

Hedrick has been a part of the lottery family since 2017 as IT Security Analyst coordinating security issues related to IT infrastructure and monitoring user access physically and digitally. The five years before joining the lottery, he was Director of Operations at Compsys, Inc. He also worked as IT Branch Manager at the Arkansas Crime Information Center and as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Born in Arizona, Hedrick moved to Central Arkansas as a teenager. He graduated from the American Military University’s Emergency and Disaster Management Program and has his Emergency Medical Technician certification from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine.

“I’m excited to start my new position, and I appreciate Director Hagler for trusting me with this opportunity,” Hedrick said. “IT plays a huge role in the lottery, and I look forward to working with all divisions to provide the support and direction we need to achieve our goals.”

About the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery More than 92 cents of every dollar of ASL revenue goes to prizes, scholarships, retailer commissions, and other expenses in Arkansas. Since 2009, the lottery has raised more than $1 billion in proceeds for scholarships.

More than 600,000 college scholarships have been awarded to Arkansans. The lottery has awarded more than $3.5 billion in prizes to players, about $302 million in retailer commissions and provided more than $141 million in state and federal tax revenue.
