Pete Ramsey receives NASPL Powers Award

The Kentucky Lottery's Vice President of Sales Pete Ramsey has received the highest individual honor awarded by the North American lottery industry.

The Powers Award, named after Ed Powers (the first US lottery director), was presented to Ramsey last week at NASPL's Professional Development Seminar in Nashville, TN. Ramsey oversaw the Kentucky Lottery's sales operation during their achievement of the organization's first $1 billion sales year in FY17. Due in large part to many initiatives championed by Ramsey, sales have grown during his three years as vice president by over $140 million. That represents a strong annual growth rate of over five percent.

Ramsey joined the Kentucky Lottery just before the first ticket was sold in the spring of 1989. He has held various positions before being named the Vice President of Sales in 2014. Those include lottery sales rep, key account manager, internal sales manager and regional sales manager; now he oversees those positions as vice president of sales. Ramsey holds a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Business Administration.

"Pete's work has helped the Kentucky Lottery achieve new heights," said Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie. "I'm proud of what he's accomplished in his nearly three decades with our organization, and I'm confident in his ability to keep growing sales so we can increase funding to college scholarship and grant programs in Kentucky."
