Arizona Lottery Marketing Efforts Receive Three Prestigious Awards

Lottery marketing efforts win Emmys and the Copper Anvil

PHOENIX (Sept. 19, 2019) – The Arizona Lottery won a total of three awards last week for their outstanding marketing and advertising efforts over the previous year. The Lottery picked up two Rocky Mountain Emmy awards, which honor exceptional work in television, and a Copper Anvil from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), which celebrates success in public relations.

The Arizona Lottery was nominated for three Rocky Mountain Emmys and took home two. The Lottery received the Commercial Single Spot award for $215 Million Dollar Cash Explosion Big Bag commercial and the Director Short Form award for Live Your Million Dollar Fantasy commercial. The Rocky Mountain Emmys are hosted by the Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

In addition to the two Rocky Mountain Emmys, PRSA Phoenix gave the Arizona Lottery a Digital/Social Media Copper Anvil for their Windfall Willie's Virtual Holiday Party live stream. The three-hour production mimicked a late-night talk show hosted by Arizona Lottery spokesperson Windfall Willie. Local talent and celebrities participated in interviews and live performances for the live stream, which supported an Arizona Lottery beneficiary, Court Appointed Special Advocates. The show reached over 42,000 people organically, received over 68,000 engagements and garnered more than 15,000 unique viewers.

“The Arizona Lottery is no stranger to local, regional and national recognition for our marketing efforts,” said Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery, Gregg Edgar. “Our commitment to advertising excellence and innovation directly supports sales numbers for our retail partners and increases transfers to Arizona Lottery beneficiaries.”
