BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) -- The update will replace nearly fifteen-year-old equipment and software.
This will enable the Lottery to sell tickets, process claims, and pay prizes in a more secure manner.
The gaming system software is scheduled to be upgraded Monday, April 15th.
The update will occur overnight to cause minimal inconvenience to players and retailers.
The entire update is expected to take ten hours to complete and operations should resume as normal by Monday afternoon.
Due to the timing of the update, the Lottery is encouraging players who usually buy their tickets that morning to buy them ahead of time.
