Adam Prock will be the next executive director of the Minnesota State Lottery, Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday.

The 46-year-old has served as the Lottery’s director of communications and government relations since August 2017. He was also on the Lottery’s executive team, where he built relationships with lawmakers and stakeholders and helped develop internal and external branding.

Before his work at the Lottery, Prock served on the City of St. Paul’s government relations team and as deputy chief of staff for former Gov. Mark Dayton.

“I am honored to serve the Minnesota State Lottery and the people of Minnesota in this new capacity,” Prock said in a statement. “I believe my experience with the Lottery coupled with my skills in executive management and relationship-building will ensure we can keep making a positive impact on our state.”

Prock’s appointment is effective immediately. He succeeds Robert Doty, who has held the role since April 2017.
