Gov. Dannel Malloy says he thinks Connecticut is close to coming to an agreement on allowing sports betting.

He says the deal could include sports bars, like Bobby V's Restaurant and Sports Bar in Stamford. 

Before sports gambling can be offered outside of casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun have to sign off on the approval first.

For the past few months, Malloy says he has been negotiating with the tribes that own the casinos. 

Malloy has asked state lawmakers to meet in Hartford for a special session on sports betting.

Even if the state approves of sports betting, the federal government would also have to approve.
