Michigan Lottery rolls out new "Super Raffle"

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) - Most people have a dream about what they would do if they ever hit the Michigan Lottery and became millionaires.

Now the Michigan Lottery is rolling out a new game they're calling the "Super Raffle".

The grand prize is $4 million with two prizes of $2 million each.

Tickets cost $50 each and can only be purchased at Lottery retailers.

The winning tickets will be drawn September 19.

Jeff Holyfield of the Michigan Lottery Communications stopped in 6 News This Morning to talk with anchor Jorma Duran about this new game that will highlight the month of September.

Michigan residents get "some of it back" in the way of lottery funds paying for many community necessities.

Under state law, proceeds from the Lottery go to Michigan's "School Aid Fund".

In the 2017 fiscal year, the lottery provided a record $924-million to support public education.

That breaks down to about $23 million for Ingham County, $13 million for Jackson County, $10 million for Eaton County and $6 million for Clinton County.
