Spain: Jesús Huerta is the new head of SELAE

 Jesus Huerta has replaced Inmaculada García at the head of SELAE,  still holds the position of Director General Budget of the Junta de Andalucía

Socialist Jesús Huerta WILL REPLACE the conservative Inmaculada García at the head of SELAE

 Jesús Huerta Almendro was born in Cádiz in 1965. He has a degree in Law from the University of Cádiz, a master's degree in Health Management and a diploma in Personnel Development Management.

 Since 2002 he held the position of managing director of the public company Hospital Alto Guadalquivir. He has worked as general director of Financing, Planning and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Health in the Junta de Andalucía. Between 2013 and 2017 he was general director of Digital Policy of the Board.

Functions

The State Lotteries and State Bets Society is attached to the Ministry of Finance, and it is responsible for the exclusive management of state-owned games. The entity has been a national gaming operator for more than two centuries, since in 1763 King Carlos III installed the so-called "Royal Lottery". The functions of Huerta in front of Lotteries will be the following:

  • Promote and coordinate the activities of the Society.
  • Establish the general guidelines for action of the different directorates that make up the Company, applying business management criteria.
  • Design and implement new projects that allow, through the Innovation of the games, the development and growth of the Society.
  • Fulfill and enforce the decisions adopted by the Board of Directors.

Loterías del Estado is the state public company that earns the most per year . The 2016 budgets indicate a benefit of over 8,000 million, of which 90 percent will go to the Treasury coffers in the form of a dividend.
