LITTLE ROCK – The May numbers are in, and year to date, Arkansas Scholarship Lottery total sales are up 12.5 percent, or nearly $51 million, versus the same period last year.

Here are the specifics for May 2018:

Total Sales            $40,396,655

Total Revenue     $40,568,778

Total Prizes          $28,118,783

Commissions       $2,276,167

Net Proceeds      $8,037,625

With the month’s net proceeds at more than $8 million, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has now raised nearly $768 million for in-state scholarships. In total, it’s been a great spring for lottery sales. March’s report recorded the Lottery’s highest-ever month for prizes, ticket sales, retailer commissions, and total revenue. The numbers in April’s report showed it was the biggest-ever April for prizes, ticket sales, retailer commissions and total revenue as well.

“For the fiscal year through May, we now stand at $7.4 million above budget for scholarship proceeds,” Director Bishop Woosley said. “Maximizing proceeds for scholarships is why we’re here, and these are incredible numbers. And with the June 15 scholarship application deadline nearly upon us, we’d like to encourage any Arkansas student to apply for one at scholarships.adhe.edu.”

The full May report was released to the Lottery Oversight Committee today. This report is available to the public at the Lottery website: MyArkansasLottery.com/about/reports.
