The CT Lottery Receives Multiple National Awards for ‘Public Awareness’ and Best ‘Newsletter’
The CT Lottery Director of Human Resources Receives NASPL ‘Powers Award’

ROCKY HILL, CT/October 23, 2017 – The CT Lottery was recently selected by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) as the winner of the “Public Awareness Award” and “Newsletter Award” at the organization’s 31st National Conference on Problem Gambling on July 21, 2017 in Portland, Oregon. 
In consideration for the NCPG Public Awareness Award, the CT Lottery submitted a 15 and 30 second version television ad titled, “Gamble Responsibly”. This ad was developed in conjunction with the roll out of our new responsible gambling initiative, GameSense; the CT Lottery English and Spanish responsible gambling radio spots; and the launch of our Responsible Gambling Button on retailer terminals.

The Corporate Newsletter award recognized the CT Lottery’s Chatter that Matters™ as the best new problem gambling-related newsletter.  Written quarterly by employees, Chatter that Matters helps to keep co-workers and stakeholders informed about the Lottery’s efforts to promote responsible gambling, supplier diversity, pro-business initiatives and green initiatives.
 
Jane Rooney, the Director of Human Resources for CT Lottery, was presented the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) “Powers Awards” in recognition of the significant contributions lottery and/or vendor employees have made through exceptional job performance. These awards are named in honor of the late Edward J. Powers and are presented to industry stand-outs.
