Arizona Lottery’s “Windfall Willie” Campaign Nominated for Prestigious Emmy Award

Regional Honor Recognizes Excellence in Television

PHOENIX (August 31, 2017) – In early 2017, the Arizona Lottery and its advertising agency, OH Partners, created a one-of-a-kind marketing campaign to bring back the iconic Arizona Lottery mascot, Windfall Willie. The campaign quickly gained attention across the state and from industry professionals. The Windfall Willie campaign earned a Telly award in May, and is now nominated for a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award.

“We are honored to be nominated for this prestigious award,” Gregg Edgar, executive director of the Arizona Lottery said. “Working so closely with the innovative team at OH Partners to develop and execute this campaign was a rewarding process. To see excitement around the campaign from both players and industry professionals has been absolutely wonderful, and it is quite an honor to be recognized by such a well-respected organization.”

The Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards are recognizing the Windfall Willie campaign in the “commercial – campaign” category. The nominated 60-second television commercial features the quirky new Windfall Willie with comedic writing, unique set design and impressive attention to detail.

The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a membership organization that is dedicated to excellence in television. The organization annually honors exceptional work through the prestigious Emmy Award. This chapter serves Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and El Centro, California.
