Who Should Apply

Applicants must have current list eligibility for appointment to this class, eligible for a training and development assignment or be a State employee who has transfer eligibility or is currently in the Systems Software Specialist I (Technical) classification, Applications will be screened for eligibility and only those that best meet the requirements of the job will be considered. What you will do:

§  Become an expert on Lottery’s data warehouse schema and data infrastructure

§  Partner with different teams to understand important open questions and un-validated assumptions

§  Use data to explain, size, and resolve questions. Typical topics may include navigating external environments, and improving operational quality

§  Analyze data and synthesize raw information into insights, recommendations, visualizations, dashboards, and reports

§  Maintain efficient QA processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of data

Desirable Characteristics and Qualifications

Applicants applying for this position should have:

§  Balance between attention to detail and swift execution

§  Excellent communicator and compelling explainer

§  Open-minded and curious listener who is able to pick up context quickly and can navigate ambiguity to get to the heart of the problem

§  Solid spreadsheet skills

§  Proficient using SQL to query data sets

§  Experience using data visualization tools

§  Bilingual skill desirable, but not required
