Seeks Applicants for Lottery Division Deputy Commissioner

The Vermont Department of Liquor & Lottery, Lottery Division, is seeking a dynamic
leader to manage its business and to lead its team of Lottery professionals. The Division
of Lottery is a professional business entity of Vermont state government serving the public
by providing fair and compelling gaming opportunities through controlled distribution,
enforcement, and education. The Lottery Division Deputy Commissioner (D.C.) is the
executive officer that oversees Lottery’s vendor relations, product distribution, licensing,
sales and marketing, management and administrative staff. The Deputy Commissioner
of the Lottery Division reports directly to the Commissioner of the Vermont Department of
Liquor & Lottery (DLL), who in turn reports to a five-member Board appointed by the
Governor. The Lottery Division D.C. will work closely with the DLL Commissioner to
ensure all governmental and business responsibilities of the Lottery Division are met and
coordinated. The Lottery D.C. is responsible for ensuring compliance with all rules and
regulations governing the Lottery, its national counterparts and cooperators. The
preferred candidate will have a demonstrated record of collaborative and inclusive
leadership, experience in operational planning and execution and will have practical
experience in marketing, budgeting, public relations, compliance management and
community relations. The Vermont Lottery Division Deputy Commissioner will coordinate
the efforts of a diverse support and oversight team comprised of staff, vendors, retailers,
associations and government agencies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BA or BS degree in Business Administration or equally relevant discipline, plus
Minimum of 5 years of management of a complex institution or business.
Considerable knowledge of Lottery Division policies and procedures is preferred.
Salary:
Range commensurate with experience: $85,000 - $105,000
