Maryland Casinos Generate $148.4 Million During December

Contributions to the State of Maryland from December 2018 casino gaming revenue totaled $61,032,048, including $45,792,178 for the Education Trust Fund. Casino gaming revenues also support local communities and jurisdictions where the six casinos are located, as well as Maryland’s horse racing industry.

Maryland Lottery uses automated sorter to expedite shipments of scratch-off tickets

"We ship about 10 million tickets every week, which is significant for a state the size of Maryland and it's growing over time," said Jim Nielsen, assistant deputy director and chief operating officer. Maryland Lottery and Gaming is the fourth largest contributor to the state after income, sales and corporate taxes. Last fiscal year, sales from the lottery contributed $1.2 billion to the state.
