TENNESSEE PLAYERS WIN BIG WEDNESDAY WITH $1 EXTRA PLAY FEATURES ON POWERBALL

Player Wins $50,000 with Double Play, Three Players Win $150,000 with Power Play

Nashville, Tenn. – Tennessee players won big Wednesday with $1 extra play features on Powerball.

Three lucky Powerball players tripled their winnings with the $1 Power Play feature, and a player won $50,000 with the $1 Double Play option.

The current estimated Powerball jackpot is $620 million, and the next drawing is Saturday, October 2. If won, it would be the sixth largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Three Powerball players matched four out of five white balls and the red Powerball to win, and because these players chose the Power Play feature for an extra $1 and the Power Play number drawn was 3, their prizes of $50,000 tripled to $150,000. A fourth Powerball player matched four out of five white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 but did not choose the Power Play feature.

The Double Play winner matched four out of five white balls and the red Powerball in a separate drawing to win $50,000.

For $1, Double Play gives players a chance to win additional cash prizes up to $10 million with their Powerball numbers. Players play the same set of numbers in both the main Powerball drawing and the separate Double Play drawing, and Powerball tickets that include the Double Play add-on are eligible to win prizes in both drawings.

The Double Play winner bought their ticket of $50,000 at 5230 E. Andrew Johnson Highway in Afton.

Winning Powerball tickets of $150,000 were purchased at:

·         Big Poppa Quick Mart, 4109 Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga;

·         Publix, 5021 Hughes Crossing Blvd in Franklin; and

·         Mapco, 401 Myatt Drive in Madison.

The winning Powerball ticket of $50,000 was purchased at Food Lion, 3120 Bristol Highway in Johnson City.
